December 17, 2021
As we come to the end of another calendar year and reflect on the accomplishments and challenges that we have been able to overcome, I am proud of the way that our Falcon community has been able to persevere through difficult times, adapt to changes and continue to build new opportunities for student success. During this Winter Break please take time to celebrate personal goals and the promise of continued growth. I am proud of the Mount View Middle School community. On behalf of the Mount View Middle School Faculty and Staff, I want to thank you for your trust and partnership. We have the best students and families in the district! We wish you well during this season. Please take time to rest, relish in the moments with friends and family, and recharge to finish out the rest of the school year strong!
Best wishes,
Lynnette Moore, Principal, and Kim Hess, Assistant Principal
12/13/21 School Safety Concern Follow-up
HCPSS has procedures and protocols in place to respond and communicate information regarding school safety concerns. Principals collaborate with our system leaders to ensure that response protocols are clearly delineated and tightly coordinated to maintain the safety of students and staff. The incident that was reported to the administration of Marriotts Ridge High School on Sunday, December 12 at no time included the Mount View Middle School or the campus. Our protocols established with our Communication Office notes that the school of concern will send out information to the community. Feeder school Principals are not to send out communications regarding an incident at another school because we are not aware of all of the facts and evidence pertaining to the safety concern. Here, the alleged threat was not credible and was ruled out as a threat before school started on Monday, December 13, 2021. Accordingly, our campus was not placed on any alert status. I do humbly regret the conversation on social media created fear, anxiety, and overwhelming concern, and the feedback regarding how we might proactively respond to said social media conversations is appropriately noted. The safety of my Falcon family is a daily priority, and I will continue to look for ways to improve my service to our school community. Once again, I will share your feedback and concerns with regard to the communication process with our District leadership.
