A Message from Our Administrators

Falcon Family,

We were so happy to see the "smiling eyes" of our students on Monday and get back to a normal school routine. Our Falcons are doing an awesome job of navigating the building, utilizing their lockers when needed, and engaging in instruction. They even adjusted well to the early dismissal schedule on Wednesday.  Thank you for sending us your babies and preparing them for the academic school year.

We look forward to seeing Parents and Guardians next week during "Back to School Night."  While we love our students, this event is for Parents and Guardians only.  We will have staff available to help you find your way, so no need to bring your personal tour guides.  Additional information for the evening is available below and we will provide a reminder next week.  We look forward to seeing you at 6:00 pm on Thursday, September 9, 2021.

Thanks for Your Support,
Lynnette Moore, Principal, and Kimberly Hess, Assistant Principal

Family File Update

Please take some time this holiday weekend to update your Family File! We are at a 76% completion rate and would like to be at 100% by Back to School Night. Read more on how to do this!

Chromebooks Charged, Packed, and Ready!

Students must bring their fully charged HCPSS issued Chromebooks and charger to school each day. Please use a ribbon or an address label on the bottom of the Chromebook and charger to help with identification. Chromebooks and digital resources will be used as a tool to enhance teacher-created lessons.

We look forward to having you visit Mount View Middle School, meet your child’s teachers and learn more about the classes your child is taking this year!
The evening will begin at 6:00 p.m. in your child's 1st-period class with a brief video broadcast hosted by the MVMS administration and the MVMS PTA. At 6:15 your child’s period 1 teacher will begin. Please review the details below to make the night an enjoyable, successful one for all.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE? Although the evening begins at 6:00 p.m., parking will be challenging. We suggest that you arrive a few minutes early and that you carpool, if possible. You may also park at Marriotts Ridge High School. Please do not park in the bus loop as it is a fire hazard.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Back to School Night is a chance for you to hear about the great things happening in the classrooms of MVMS. Space is limited and if this year is like years past when we offered an in-person experience, the hallways will be filled with adults moving in various directions to get to class on time. Therefore, we request that students remain home during this event. Don’t worry about getting lost – staff will be available to help you arrive at your child’s classrooms. We will also have maps available for you to use if needed.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING? You should bring a copy of your child's schedule. You can find the schedule on Canvas. Stop by the school's main lobby if you are unable to access your student's schedule on Canvas. We recommend that you download the Canvas app to your phone to access your student's schedule (see below). However; there is a possibility of you having to wait in a long line causing you to miss some of the first class. You may want to bring something so that you can take notes if needed. The PTA wants to remind you to bring your checkbook. You can take care of your PTA membership! (Dues are $15/person/ 25 per family)  You can also join or renew online.
WHAT SHOULD I DO WHEN I ARRIVE? Please proceed to your child's 1st-period class for the video broadcast that will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. The classroom portion of our Back to School Night Program begins promptly at 6:15 p.m.
WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE FOR THE EVENING?  There is an optional Gifted and Talented session beginning at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria.  The Administration/PTA will kick off the evening at 6:00 p.m. in your child's 1st-period class with a Google Meet Session. Once concluded, you will continue the evening following your child’s schedule.

We are looking forward to seeing you!

  • The student’s course grade will be recorded on the high school transcript.
  • The student’s grade will not be calculated into the high school grade point average.

School Meals

School breakfast and lunch will be served in the cafeteria at no cost to students through the entire 2021-2022 school year, any day that schools are open. All meal services will be grab and go, with no self-service or a la carte items offered. However, students will have more meal choices than were available last year, and a faster meal service process has been designed to reduce the time spent on meal lines. We have the menu posted in the cafeteria for students to help with options; however, please note that students must select one vegetable or fruit item with each lunch.
