Mount View Middle School is able to select one student in grade 6-8 to nominate as the school's Carson Scholar candidate.

• Interested students should submit using this link by Monday, December 9, 2019. MVMS will select one student from those who apply to move forward in the nomination process. The selected student will be notified by December 13, 2019, will need to obtain a teacher letter of recommendation, and complete an additional application by January 10, 2020. 

Students in grade 6-8, who have never been selected as a Carson Scholar in the past, may apply. 
Students must have a 3.75 GPA or higher in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and World Language (if taking) courses for this school year’s first-quarter report card. See GPA Calculation Rules and Policies. 
Complete one of the following prompts (450-word minimum, 500-word maximum; rubric is below)

• If you could be any superhero who would you be and why?  Discuss three of his/her admirable qualities, why those qualities are important to you and how they might help you in the future.
• “Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” – Dr. Seuss.  What is something that sets you apart from others?  How can you use it to benefit the world?

Describe your community service involvement and its meaning to you. 250 words maximum.
