With a "Polar Vortex" approaching, this is a perfect time to share some information regarding recess. As you are aware, we take students outside for the second part of their lunches each day for recess. This is a great opportunity for students to get some exercise and a much needed break from their academics. With that being said, we want to make sure that we keep students healthy so that they can be in school each day. Please read the following guidelines for recess:
-If the wind chill (AKA "Feels Like") temperature is below 20 degrees F, we will not be going outside.
-As the temperatures approach the cut off, there will be days that we will take only those students that are appropriately dressed with pants AND a winter coat on outside. The rest of the students will remain in the cafeteria.
As the temperatures drop, please make sure students are dressed appropriately for the bus stops as well as for recess. In order to go outside for recess when it is below freezing, please make sure students have winter coats with them. We want to keep students safe and healthy so that they are able to be in school each day. If you need assistance providing a winter coat please contact the main office or your student's counselor.
Thank you and have a wonderful and healthy winter!
