A Note from the Health Room

Healthy Habits = Healthy Students

In order to keep our students as healthy as possible, we ask that you assist us in reminding your children about good hygiene habits.  Information sheets have been hung around the building reminding students to cover their mouth with their arm or a tissue when sneezing and coughing.  Please also encourage your child to wash their hands frequently with soap and water and to avoid sharing items that may have come in contact with another person’s saliva, such as eating utensils and drinking containers.

Students with symptoms of acute illness such as vomiting, diarrhea, colds, rash, persistent cough, etc. should be observed at home and be seen by a doctor if necessary.  Students who have a fever should remain at home until their temperature has been normal for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications.

If your child is diagnosed with any illness that could be given to others (such as strep throat, pink eye, chicken pox, etc.) please let the school health room know so that we may observe for additional cases.

If you need assistance in obtaining health care for your child, please contact your school nurse or health assistant.  Resources may be available through local agencies.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Sincerely,

Leslie Williams
