MVMS End-of-Year Activities

We are excited about our end-of-year grade level celebrations.  Each grade level is hosting their awards during their end-of-year celebration.  We have moved away from The Presidential Awards because it limited the number of students that we could recognize.  We want our students to be recognized for a variety of accomplishments! Please see the details below regarding each of the grade levels and their plans.

EIGHTH GRADE

June 12 – Harbor Cruise – Baltimore Inner Harbor

June 16 – Awards Assembly & Picnic at MVMS – Students will celebrate the completion of their 8th grade year with a student recognition assembly, afternoon picnic and outdoor activities.  The students can either bring a bagged lunch or purchase lunch from the cafeteria.  We will eat lunch outside and then participate in varied activities.  A special thanks to our PTA for providing Dippin’ Dots, tie-dye materials and a DJ/Karaoke for entertainment!

Parents, feel free to join us for our morning assembly from 8-9:30 a.m. in the cafeteria.  All students will receive a promotion certificate.  Other awards will be given along with recognition of student groups.  Please note that seating is limited.

SEVENTH GRADE

June 16 – Recognition & Team Building, Centennial Park – The 7th grade recognition will take place at Centennial Park Pavillion H at approximately 9:30 a.m. (pending arrival time). The ceremony will be brief and parents are welcome to attend.  Following the ceremony, students will participate in team building games as a group, eat lunch, and take part in their choice of Frisbee, basketball, volleyball, soccer, kickball or simply relax and enjoy the company of their friends.

SIXTH GRADE

June 18 – Aloha Day & Award Assembly, MVMS – Students will celebrate the end of 6th grade with a morning of outside activities followed by a student award assembly to be held at 11:15 a.m. in the gymnasium.  The 6th grade team will recognize students for their achievement and participation throughout the school year.  Parents, your children have worked hard this year and we are happy to have watched them become middle school students.  Thank you so much for all that you do as parents.  Your hard work shows through in all they have achieved.
