Greetings from your Technology Support Teacher! Buy now, ALL 6th graders received an orientation to technology through their social studies classes.  We introduced the ISTE standards and reviewed the school’s  BYOD guidelines.  Then students were able to log in to the computers to verify their active directory username and password.  They cleaned up their personal GAFE (Google Apps for Education) and then we introduced the features of Canvas.  All 7th and 8th graders new to HCPSS also received their usernames and passwords as well as some information about how to access the apps from hcpss.me.  

For more information about using Canvas, please refer to the attached Parent Guide to Canvas.  Also, please ask your student to show you his/her agenda book; pages 7-11 include details about how students will access and use the Student Apps.  

This year, I will focus on helping students and teachers utilize technology that helps promote the 7 ISTE standards for students.   During periodic “Tech Talks” students will be able to find out more about these standards and receive updates about the HCPSS apps that are part of the essential tools.
