WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?
Although the evening begins at 6:00 p.m., parking will be challenging. We suggest you arrive a few minutes early and carpool, if possible. You may also park at Marriotts Ridge High School. Please do not park in the bus loop as it is a fire hazard.
DO I NEED TO WEAR A MASK ON BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT?
Masks are optional in all HCPSS buildings for all students, staff, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status.
SYMPTOM SELF-CHECK FOR BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT:
Parents/guardians should stay home if they are experiencing symptom(s) associated with any communicable disease, including COVID-19. In addition, parents/guardians are to perform the following COVID-19 health check before leaving home to attend BTSN.
A parent/guardian should NOT come to school with any of these symptoms:
WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Back to School Night is a chance for you to hear about the great things happening in the classrooms of MVMS. Space is limited; if this year is like years past when we offered an in-person experience, the hallways will be filled with adults moving in various directions to get to class on time. Therefore, we request that students remain home during this event. Don’t worry about getting lost – staff will be available to help you arrive at your child’s classrooms. We will also have maps available for you to use if needed.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING? You should bring a copy of your child's schedule. You can find the schedule on Canvas. Stop by the school's main lobby if you cannot access your student's schedule on Canvas. We recommend that you download the Canvas app to your phone to access your student's schedule (see below). However, there is a possibility of you having to wait in a long line causing you to miss some of the first class. You may want to bring something so that you can take notes if needed. The PTA wants to remind you to bring your checkbook. You can take care of your PTA membership! (Dues are $15/person/ 25 per family) You can also join or renew online.
WHAT SHOULD I DO WHEN I ARRIVE? Please proceed to your child's 1st-period class for the video broadcast that will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. The classroom portion of our Back to School Night Program begins promptly at 6:15 p.m.
WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE FOR THE EVENING? There is an optional Gifted and Talented session beginning at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria. The Administration/PTA will kick off the evening at 6:00 p.m. in your child's 1st-period class with a Google Meet Session. Once concluded, you will continue the evening following your child’s schedule.
We are looking forward to seeing you!
