Grading and the 4x4 Schedule

Semester Long Classes
Semester-long classes will continue after the end of Quarter 1 until the end of Quarter 2 on January 28. Grades for these classes are calculated based on the letter grade for Quarter 1 and the letter grade for Quarter 2.

Quarter Long Classes
Quarter long classes end today Friday, November 6. Students in Quarter long classes (PE, health, art, music, family and consumer sciences, tech ed, among others) will see a new class on their Canvas Calendar for the new quarter. Quarter 2 courses can also be seen in Synergy.

Quarter 1 report cards will be posted and available to view by families on November 16th. The information below is the step by step guide to view report cards:

  1. Log in to HCPSS Connect Synergy
  2. Select “Academic Information” from the left panel
  3. Select “Student’s Report Cards” in the middle of your screen
  4. Select “2020-2021 Q1 Report Card”

Cameras in Google Meets

While cameras are not required - our staff is finding that students that regularly have their cameras on are more engaged, attentive, and participating more. Most importantly - we really love and miss your kids and it is great when the class is able to interact with one another.

Did you know? There is a new feature in Google Meet where students can change their background or blur their background so their surroundings are not visible to others. To do this, students can click on the three dots in the bottom right corner and click “change background.”

Coming Soon

Mount View Falcons have used this time to show how much they care about others and support their community.  This year, we know that many families around our community could use some extra support.  Mount View Middle School, in partnership with the MVMS PTA, will be running a program to help support our families as well as some from another HCPSS school.  The program, #MVMSCares, will allow MVMS families to sign up to donate an item or gift card.  These donations will help to fulfill wish lists for families.  This is a completely optional program but any support is appreciated.  Families that want to participate, will sign up through a sign up genius and then drop off items at MVMS.  Staff members will organize and wrap items to be given to families.  Information about signing up and the drop off will be out soon.  If you have questions please reach out to Ms. Kim Hess (Kimberly_Hess@hcpss.org) or MaryAnne Emery (Maryanne_Emery@hcpss.org).  We are so proud of all of the generosity of our falcons and look forward to sharing that again this year.
