What a week at Mount View!

The past week has been filled with activities that prove once again why Mount View Middle School is the best middle school in the country.  In just one week we had Dumpling Day to celebrate the Lunar New Year, the school play, Legally Blonde Jr., and the the first ever Culture Night at Mount View.  All of these events demonstrate our commitment to building a inclusive school community that celebrates diversity while nurturing academic success and individual well-being.

I want to personally thank all of the parents that came to school for Dumpling Day. The staff was very appreciative of all the delicious food and information about the Lunar New Year.  We hope this tradition will continue for years to come.

I also want to recognize Ms. Samantha Bramm and Mrs. Valerie Kann for their leadership and dedication to the school play, Legally Blonde Jr.  There are so many essential details and tasks required for a successful school play.  Ms. Bramm and Mrs. Kann went above and beyond expectations to deliver a memorable experience for the students and the community.  All of the students did a fantastic job and it was great to see them share their talents.  Turnout for the play was almost standing room only for both performances.  Thank you to everyone who came out to support the students.

The first ever Mount View Culture Night was a smashing success.  Turnout was unbelievable.  It was amazing to have so many families from so many diverse backgrounds share their culture with the Mount View community.  There was delicious food, performances and activities that demonstrated the strength of our school community.  Thank you to Mrs. Mary Klyap, Mrs. Puluna Shelat, Mrs. Barb Sharbaugh and Mrs. Iris Chao for your planning and coordination of Culture Night.

As you can see, all of these events over the past week are just a few of the numerous reasons to reinforce my belief that Mount View is a special place for students and staff. It continues to be my pleasure to serve such a diverse and special community.
