Autism, or autism spectrum disorder, refers to a range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication, as well as by unique strengths and differences. We now know that there is not one autism but many types, caused by different combinations of genetic and environmental influences.
On April 2, 2017, the world will celebrate National Autism Awareness Day. Mount View Middle School will celebrate on March 31st in school. Staff and students are invited to wear autism awareness clothing or anything or everything blue, the color for autism awareness. Please be aware of the HCPSS dress code (Policy 9210) when deciding on outfits. Thank you.
